So, today Elmwood took a visit to the college, primarily to talk to the third years but they held a talk this morning which I attended. It was very interesting to hear and see how Elmwood work; their work is very conceptual based and this seems to be what makes their work so effective in what is does. Their approach to each project they approach results in fresh designs which are fitting to the brand and what they want from their products. I will definitely be keeping and eye on the work Elmwood continue to produce.
This talk has also made me re-consider the brief I am currently working on, the designs I have produced have no real concept and just 'look pretty'. I think I need to delve a little deeper into the brand essence of 17 and hopefully come up with some informed designs as a result of this.
